The City of Norwalk and Norwalk Public Schools is constructing a new facility serving students in grades Pre-K – 5 on the site of the existing Cranbury Elementary School. The classroom portion of the building is simply arranged on two stories served by a central corridor, three stairways and an elevator. All classrooms have access to natural light, and are of similar size and shape to maximize flexibility. The Learning Commons is at the heart of the school, near the center of the first floor, with views to the east. Upon completion, the existing elementary school will be demolished and a new parent driveway loop and parking area, as well as athletic fields and two age-appropriate playgrounds, will be constructed.
